Slab Soap Molds

Here at Soap Making Resource, we offer beautiful acrylic no-line slab soap molds. These soap tray molds are professionally designed and crafted out of durable acrylic. You don't have to line them with butcher or freezer paper as you do with wooden soap molds. Simply assemble the mold, pour in your soap and insert the dividers. So what are the benefits of slab soap molds? First of all, because of the dividers, your soap will be formed into perfect bars. This means... there is no more need to cut your soap! You will save quite a bit of time and money going forward. Furthermore, all the bars will be perfectly formed upon removal from the mold, eliminating most trimming... unless, of course, you are one who likes to bevel your edges. By the way, if you want to create a giant slab of soap without the pre-formed bars, simply don't use the divider!

Each mold is able to be completely disassembled, making it extremely easy to remove your soap from the mold without damage. Just take out the bolts, carefully remove each side, and grab your bars. To ensure that even the stickiest soaps don't adhere to the acrylic, when you are ready to remove the soap from the mold, simply put your entire batch in the oven at 170 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 minutes. After this step, the soap will come right out! Alternately, you can freeze your soap in the mold overnight and once it thaws, your soap will be easy to remove. Be sure to do one of these two steps when you are ready to remove the soap from the mold.

With the Soap Making Resource tray soap molds, it is easy to accomplish design techniques that are only achievable when using this type of mold. For instance, you can put unique embeds into the center of your bars.

There are many embedding options. Use your imagination! I like to embed smaller soap designs. To do this, just create a large slab of soap by not inserting the dividers into the mold. Let it cure for 24 hours. Then use your cookie cutter of choice to create your mini soap... or if you are somewhat artistically skilled, hand cut your desired shape. Now make another batch of soap, insert the divider into the mold and place your embed into the center of each bar. Very pretty!

below is a picture of the soap that I made using one of the Soap Making Resource slab soap molds. As you can see, I embedded into my batch madder root colored mini heart soaps that I created using a cookie cutter. Once the dividers are added to the mold, you will be able to see exactly where the center of each bar is. Obviously, when using a standard log mold, this type of embedding is very difficult, if not impossible.

With our acrylic tray soap mold, you can also place botanicals on the large surface side of your soap. When making soap in a log mold, any addition of herbs to the top of your log will end up being on the thin side of the bar after the log is sliced. Being able to cover the large surface side of your soap with flower petals, herbs or soothing oatmeal is yet another design aspect that is only achievable with slab soap molds.

Furthermore, our acrylic soap molds are extremely durable and easy to clean. Exposure to water will not deteriorate this product over time as with some molds out there on the market today. Simply soak your soapy mold in water and wipe clean.

Finally, all the Soap Making Resource no-line slab soap molds come complete with a silicone liner for the bottom, which will allow easy removal of your soap. Unlike many other slab mold suppliers, we include this liner with the mold.

There are two sizes available for the Soap Making Resource acrylic slab soap mold. The small size will hold 3 pounds of soap and the large size will hold 5 pounds of soap. All the molds come with a lid, bar dividers and a silicone liner.

If you are making bigger batches, you will see below that there are discounts for purchasing more than one mold. So... if you are making a 10 pound batch, get 2 of the 5 pound molds. For a 20 pound batch, pick up 4 of the 5 pound molds etc.

The Soap Making Resource 3 pound acrylic soap mold will hold 3 pounds of soap. The included dividers will form exactly 9 bars measuring 2.5 inches wide by 3.5 inches long. The thickness of the bar will vary depending on how high you fill the mold with a maximum thickness of 1.25 inches. Total inside mold dimensions for the 3lb acrylic slab mold is 10.5 inches long by 7.75 inches inches high by 1.25 inches deep.

The Soap Making Resource 5 pound acrylic soap mold will hold 5 pounds of soap. The included dividers will form exactly 15 bars measuring 2.5 inches wide by 3.5 inches long. The thickness of the bar will vary depending on how high you fill the mold with a maximum thickness of 1.25 inches. The inside dimensions for the 5lb acrylic soap tray mold is 12.5 inches long by 10.5 inches wide by 1.25 inches deep.
